SQUASH PUPPIES


1 c. self-rising cornmeal....1/2 c. self- rising flour
1/2 c. chopped onion....1 c. grated squash
1 egg, beaten....2 Tbsp. (about) milk

Combine cornmeal and flour in mixing bowl; add onion and squash. Stir in egg and enough milk to make a stiff batter. Drop by spoonsful into hot fat. Fry until brown on all sides. Drain and serve. Yeild: 4-6 servings.
