CINNAMON ROLLS
1 c. milk.....1 pkg. dry yeast
1 egg, beaten.....3 Tabsp. shortening
1/2 c.
sugar.....1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla.....4 to
4 1/2 c. flour
2 sticks (1 c.) margerine.....3 Tbsp. cinnamon
.....1 c. sugar
7 to 8 tsp. hot water....1 c. powdered sugar...
.1/2 tsp. vanilla
Heat milk to just luke
warm. Mix yeast according to package directions.
Mix together beaten egg, milk, sugar, shortening,
salt, yeast and vanilla. Add flour to make a soft
dough. Let rise about one hour in a warm place.
Turn out on well floured board and knead well. Roll
out into a thin rectangle, 12 x 18
inches.
Combine margerine, cinnamon and sugar
for filling. Sprinkle on dough. Roll up in jelly
roll fashion. Slice rolls in 1 inch slices. Place
in a greased pan. Let rise for 1 hour. Bake at 400
degrees for 20 to 30 minutes. Glaze while still
hot.
