3 egg whites
1/3 tsp. cream of tarter
pinch salt
2 c. powdered sugar
1 c. chopped nuts
1 c. chocolate bits or 1 c. chopped dates

Beat egg whites until foamy. Add cream of tarter and salt and continue beating until very stiff. Add sugar and beat until batter is stiff enough to stand in high peaks. More sugar may be added if necessary. Stir in nuts, chocolate bits or dates. Drop from tsp. onto a well greased and floured cookie sheet. Bake 10-20 minutes at 275-300 degrees until delicately brown. Remove immediately from cookie sheet. Yield: 40 Serv.
