CINNAMON HARD CANDY

2 c. sugar
1 c. water
2 Tbsp. light corn syrup
Few drops red food coloring
2-4 drops oil of cinnamon
Powdered sugar


Cook sugar, water, corn syrup and food coloring to very hard crack stage, 300 degrees. Add oil of cinnamon; stir slightly to mix in oil. Pour into well greased pan; cool. Cut or crack into pieces. Dust in powdered sugar. NOTE: Any flavoring or food coloring may be used. Yield: 1 1/2 lbs.

RED CINNAMON CANDY #2

2 3/4 c. sugar
3/4 c. light corn syrup
3/4 c. water
1 tsp. (scant) cinnamon oil
1 tsp. red food coloring


Combine sugar, syrup and water; boil to hard crack stage. Remove from heat; add cinnamon oil and food coloring. Pour into a greased 9x13-inch pan. Score immediately
