DIVINITY #1

2 c. sugar
2/3 c. water
1/2 c. Lt. corn syrup
2 egg whites, stiffly beaten
1 tsp. vanilla
Dash salt


Combine 1/2 c. sugar and 1/3 c. water; cook until small amount of syrup forms soft ball in cold water. Cook remaining sugar, water and corn syrup until it forms a hard ball in cold water. Cool first syrup mixture slightly; slowly add to egg whites, beating constantly for 1 to 2 minutes or until mixture loses it's gloss. Add second syrup mixture in same way. Add vanilla; turn into greased pan. Cut in squares when cold. Yield: 40 pieces

DIVINITY #2

3 c. sugar
1/2 c. Lt. corn syrup
1/2 c. water
3 egg whites, stiffly beaten
1 c. chopped nuts
1 tsp. vanilla
pinch salt


Combine sugar, corn syrup and water; boil for 5 minutes or until small amount of mixture forms hard ball in cold water. Gradually beat into stiffly beaten egg whites. Add remaing ingrediants; beat until mixture holds it's shape. Drop from teaspoon onto wax paper or greased pan.
